Two new books will be featured at Books by the Banks, and both feature a regional favorite- Bourbon. The two books: The Kentucky Bourbon Cookbook, and the Kentucky Bourbon Cocktail both feature innovative and creative ways of using Bourbon! You can watch two videos from the books’ authors to hear more about these two books.
In The Kentucky Bourbon Cookbook, Albert Schmid (featured in the video at the top of this page) provides readers with his best collection of recipes using the famous Bluegrass spirit. From classic Kentucky cocktails such as the Mint Julep, to bourbon-inspired desserts, such as Bourbon-Pecan Crème Brûlée with Chocolate Sauce…. this book supplies recipes for every course.

“In The Kentucky Bourbon Cocktail Book, featured in the video above, Joy Perrine and Susan Reigler provide a reader-friendly handbook featuring more than 100 recipes including seasonal drinks, after-dinner bourbon cocktails, Derby cocktails, and even medicinal toddies. The book’s introduction explains how the use of specific spirits and ingredients, glassware, and special techniques, such as muddling and infusions, accentuates the unique flavor of bourbon. Much of the book is devoted to recipes and instructions for the professional or at-home bartender, from classic drinks such as the Manhattan and the Mint Julep to drinks for special occasions, including the Candy Cane, Pumpkin Eggnog, and Kentucky Bourbon Sparkler. The authors complete the work with suggested appetizer pairings, a glossary of terms, and a bibliography of bourbon-related books.”  W atch the video below for more information!
