Emma Carlson Berne is the author of Animals to the Rescue! Balto (Scholastic, 2022) and Animals to the Rescue! Sergeant Reckless (Scholastic, 2022), as well as the picture books Books by Horseback (Little Bee, 2021) and Rose Spoke Out (Apples & Honey Press, 2023), along with many other books for young readers. Emma spent 2018 as the Writer-in-Residence for the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and lives in Wyoming with her family.
