Lorraine Boissoneault is an award-winning Chicago writer whose work covers the complexities of life through the lens of history, science, and archaeology. Her first book, The Last Voyageurs, told the story of two dozen teenagers and high school students who recreated La Salle's expedition down the Mississippi River. Her most recent book is Body Weather: Notes on Chronic Illness in the Anthropocene, a memoir in essays that describes her experience with illness and climate change. It won the 2024 Lukas Book in Progress prize from Harvard and Columbia.
