Emma Carlson Berne is a children’s book author, most recently, of Rose Spoke Out (Apples and Honey Press, 2023). Her picture book Books by Horseback came out from Little Bee in 2021. Emma often writes about Jewish history and culture, animals, and sports for young readers, including books for Odd Dot, the Smithsonian, and Little Passports. Emma spent 2018 as the Writer-in-Residence for the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. She often speaks about writing to schools and community groups. Emma lives in Cincinnati with her family, where she was also raised.
